"First in Class!"
Okay, so everyone in town has heard about the new "Restaurant Row" in fact, weve seen many of you there...so right there on the end, just down from the Post Office is PHO 533. If youre not sure why a Vietnamese restaurant is named PHO 533, then you may want to stop by and check out the menu. Its a pretty awesome story as recounted by Anh, co-owner of one of the first Vietnamese cuisine restaurants in the desert. PlanetPalmSprings.com is close by and we do most of our shopping at Smoketree Village and try to have lunch or dinner at PHO at least once a week. The atmosphere is classy and friendly and the menu is extensive and inexpensive.
A few of us eat mainly vegetarian dishes so one of our favorites are the Spring Rolls and Medley Tofu. Theres plenty for the meat lovers too. The French Tiramisu is incredible and alcohol free which leaves more room for a fine glass of California wine selected from their extensive wine list.
Almost every time were at PHO a customer will ask one of the staff members, "So, is this like Chinese food?" The answer is a resounding, "No." Youll find the dishes to be less oily, lighter, and there are not any dishes that are fried. The restaurant has a Daily Specials menu for lunch and an incredibly reasonably priced dinner menu. If youve not visited PHO before, then give it a try and be sure to tell Gary and Anh "Hello!" for us!
