“The integration of art, architecture, and design is what makes our interiors timeless”..John Wiltgen..
Creating exclusive interiors for extraordinary people has been John Robert Wiltgen's passion for the past 25 years. Hearing chins hit the floor when people first see his work is music to the ears of the internationally-acclaimed interior designer.
From a svelte condominium residence on Chicago's Magnificent Mile, to the lobby of the Ambassador West Hotel's condominium conversion, to a vintage co-op, to a glamorous Beverly Hills penthouse, to a beach front property, to a desert conversion or luxurious estate- a touch of exuberance that will be forever etched in the memory of everyone who sees it. Call it imagination, technique, or unabashed creativity. Nomenclature aside, it all relates to drama. Each Wiltgen project involves countless hours of personal time with owners even before plans are created.
Our work is dramatic, states Wiltgen of the residences he and his associates create. "No matter how much money is spent on furnishings, or remodeling a master bath, or building a new home, it's always more than one expects. So it better look extraordinary!"
Before John studied architectural and interior design, he experienced drama first-hand working for a Chicago theater company. It exposed him to the finite details of drama from noted celebrities such as Zsa Zsa and Eva Gabor, Leslie Caron, Louis Jourdan, Sid Caesar and Imogene Coca. Working with Tony Award winning sets, costume and lighting designers helped develop John's exquisite sense of style — the perfect entree to the work of design!
Integrating art, architecture and design into every project, John Robert Wiltgen Design, Inc. has become a force in the world of both architectural and interior design as well as construction management. The team's success is not accidental. Always in search of new knowledge and excellence, John Wiltgen, himself, is frequently spotted among students at advanced landscaping, art, and architecture programs at Harvard University as well as in Europe.
Today's successful real estate developers and home builders recognize the power of effective interior design. Model homes must showcase beauty and function, stand out from the competition, and bring added value to the project.
The designers at John Robert Wiltgen Design, Inc. often review and revise architectural layouts for a new project to improve the utilization of the interior space before final construction documents are prepared. John Robert Wiltgen Design, Inc. is repeatedly praised for attention to detail in model homes; a pair of reading glasses left with an open book, framed wedding and honeymoon photos in the master bedroom, baby wipes and talcum powder in the nursery. These details are so convincing that often times prospective buyers will inquire when the residents will return.
Wiltgen currently spends much of his time creating such masterpieces in Chicago, Los Angeles, Beverly Hills and Palm Springs. From state to state and even abroad, John Wiltgens accomplishments and expertise have placed him in the enviable position of being sought after by two divergent groups: discriminating clients and industry peers who seek his inspiration as a speaker at art, architecture and design functions. House Beautiful, Better Homes & Gardens, Design & Architecture, Robb Report, Newsweek to name a few, have all praised Wiltgen for his work. For more detail and pictures go to www.jrwdesign.com.
